Swimming Caps

I paint my figures wearing swimming caps to remove them from a specific time or trend. By stripping away recognisable hairstyles, the caps create a sense of timelessness and an almost otherworldly presence. This gives the paintings a quiet, mythical quality—one that allows emotion to take the lead and leaves space for my own experiences and meaning to settle into the work.
